How do you get students to speak in English?

Getting students to confidently use English to communicate with others in the classroom, not to mention in the outside world can, at times, seem an impossible mission. The presenter will share what she found when she set upon the task of discovering why her students weren’t speaking in English. Participants will come away from this workshop with insights on verbal and non-verbal communication, as well as clear and practical ideas on how to set up and carry out activities that will promote the use of the target language in the classroom.

Uno de los retos más importantes del docente de inglés es lograr que sus alumnos realmente utilicen el idioma para comunicarse. La timidez, el miedo a equivocarse, el temor a recibir las burlas de los compañeros, la falta de interés todos pueden contribuir a que los alumnos no practiquen el idioma hablado.
A lo largo de este taller, la ponente compartirá con los participantes los hallazgos obtenidos de un estudio diseñado para saber por qué los alumnos no hablan en clase. Los participantes del taller saldrán con ideas prácticas para realizar actividades que realmente promuevan el uso del inglés en el aula.
